Combat Sports and Tech Billionaires Fight News Update
Zuckerberg vs. Musk fight not likely to happen, Meta owner says!
After weeks of posturing and social media wars the rumored fight between fellow billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk appears to be off - at least for now.
Zuckerberg posted on Meta's new social media platform Threads on Saturday that it is "time to move on." The Meta owner has frequently shared photos and videos of his jiu jitsu training in recent months.
"I think we can all agree Elon isn't serious and it's time to move on," Zuckerberg said. "If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me."
Zuckerberg added that UFC owner Dana White had agreed to make the fight official and use its proceeds for charity but Musk would not confirm a date. He also said Musk suggested a "practice round" in Zuckerberg's backyard.
The post from Zuckerberg comes a week after Musk claimed that the cage fight would be streamed on X with proceeds going to a veterans charity. On Friday he tweeted that the fight would be managed by Zuckerberg's foundations and not the UFC.
"The fight will be managed by my and Zuck's foundations (not UFC)," Musk tweeted. "Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location."
The billionaires are still at loggerheads at time of publication.
"Zuck wants UFC, likely in Las Vegas. Must wants Italy at the Collesium no less. Musk want to support Vets. Zuck's got other ideas. To his defense Musk is currently doing rehab for an injury and needs more time. The world was and still may be buzzing for this fantasy dream match, but the buzz is starting to cool off", says Media Man, who have been following the saga from the get-go.
"Looks like the world still may get Logan Paul vs Jake Paul eventually and maybe even Roman Reigns vs Tai Tuivasa, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Volk and Brock Lesnar vs Logan Paul one day in the future, but don't hold your breath for Musk vs Zuck for much longer", Media Man staff was overheard under the watercooler.
Musk added that the event would "pay respect to the past and present of Italy."
Comon' fellas, the world still wants this fight - in an Octagon or in a ring or on the mat of some nature. The viral Musk vs Zuck fantasy lives on via Media Man and other social media VR, AI and the like!

JWS with excellent insight and Intel into the ESPN - PENN deal. To me at this stage of the game a ESPN - sports/gaming lifestyle b2b type deal such as this makes more sense and is a better Image match-up than the current and distancing relationship what ESPN has with Disney (but smartly appears to be moving away from). To my mind Disney is a damaged brand - many entertainment brands are but Disney is particularly embattled in my view. They picked the wrong political for in Ron DeSantis from Florida. College sports and the Daily Fantasy Sports sector is more "smash mouth" and "in your face" vibe, akin to MMA powerhouse the UFC. Is this PENN "tease" a deliberate market test of a rougher and more masculine version of ESPN without the mouse ears and political distractions of old? Is this at least part driven by Barstool Sports prior mega success in Daily Fantasy and sports betting news and services with attitude? This move and current vibe has caught my attention. We are open to affiliate b2b with ESPN and PENN, but not Disney these days - at least not with Disney s current political agendas and activism mindset and vibe). Elon Musk of X @X Corp Claims Mark Zuckerberg Refused Fight At Roman Colosseum
Tech tsar Elon Musk says he isn't the one holding up a battle of the billionaires with Mark Zuckerberg ... claiming Tuesday the Meta King is actually the one who turned down a potential fight at Italy's Colosseum.
The X Corp founder took to X (formally Twitter) just minutes ago to explain his side of the situation ... saying after the two men had initially agreed to fight, Rome offered up one of the Seven Wonders of the World for the guys to scrap in.
But, according to Elon, Zuck just flat-out didn't want to do it.
"Zuck declined," Musk said emphatically.
That's when he said he offered to fight in Zuckerberg's backyard Octagon instead.
"I suggested his home as 'safe space,'" Musk said. "Tragically, he was ahem 'traveling.'"
Zuck, meanwhile, has offered up a completely different version of the situation, saying on Threads earlier this week that he was moving on from the battle ... because he didn't believe Musk was serious at all about the fight.
"I offered a real date".."Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity. Elon won't confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead."
"If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I'm going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously."
Zuckerberg is now exploring a fight in the UFC.
Media Man half joked, "So Zuck want a fight in the UFC, or maybe ONE Championship otherwise. How about they bring in either Jake Paul, Logan Paul, KSI, or even a somewhat long awaited return of CM Punk (Phillip Brooks). The Paul Bros are much strong draws, but KSI is ultra tough and a draw also. Between Zuck, UFC, the Paul Bros, Misfits and co they should be able to sort it out. Not certain Musk is still going to be able to stream the fight via X but don't write it off yet. This recent news may just spark Musk to conceed to fight in the Octagon in Vegas or wherever. Could be part of the negotiation process knowing Musk. May the best promoter and may the best fighter win. In fairness, round 6 of the online fight to Zuck after our fight cards showing Musk winning the majority of the prior. It ain't over till it's over".

The outspoken Rob Van Dam took to the platform following his in-ring debut on AEW Dynamite to address fans who thought his appearance was a slight of some sort to WWE, the home for the vast majority of his pro wrestling career. RVD is also known for his tremendous run in ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling), for the most part ran by "Evil Genius" Paul Heyman, now with WWE.
"Some fans are saying I did WWE wrong by appearing on AEW," Van Dam tweeted. "I wonder if they would all eat *hit if I revealed that I had permission to do it? The father of Bray Wyatt feels his son will be coming back to WWE soon.
Appearing at WrestleCon over the weekend, former WWE and WCW star Mike Rotunda (IRS) told Sportskeeda that he feels Wyatt will be back "hopefully shortly."
"You read a lot of stuff on the internet which I wouldn't believe a lot of or, in my case, any of it. Bray Wyatt...I'm sure he will return to WWE, hopefully shortly, and we'll go from there".
Some wrestling fans are hoping Wyatt forms a clan/faction/cult in the WWE. Names being talked about with hardcore fans include Riddick Moss, Emma, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Cameron Grimes, Raven and a possible return of Erik.

ONE Boss calls out X Corp's Elon Musk: “I am compelled to say something”
Mr Sityodtong criticized Musk for his “bullying” tactics. This comes after the latter said he’d confront Zuck at his home.
“I normally don’t like to get involved in other people’s spats, but I am compelled to say something on the latest development of the potential fight between Mark Zuckerberg vs Elon Musk,” the ONE boss scribed in his Facebook post on Tuesday, August 15.
“A few hours ago, Elon said that he was planning to show up to Mark’s house to fight him. Elon is one of the greatest entrepreneurs in history and I have a lot of respect for his guts, accomplishments, and intellect. However, I dislike bullying of any kind.”
The beef reached new highs (or lows) when X Corp's Musk claimed to have spoken with Italian authorities about arranging a fight at the historic Colosseum in Rome, Italy.
Zuckerberg expressed his willingness to fight Musk under one condition, though. He wants to stage the event in either ONE Championship or the UFC @ufc These are the world's leading combat sports organizations by earnings, reach, broadcasting and media footprint, demo etc.
The Meta chief’s prime stipulation didn't go down well with Musk. That led the X Corp boss to respond in a harsh fashion.
This didn’t sit well with Sityodtong, who initially offered to host the potential super-fight.
“Elon genuinely knows nothing about fighting or martial arts despite his claims to the contrary. As a lifelong expert martial artist who has been in my fair share of scraps, I can tell simply by the way he is acting,” Sityodtong wrote.
“The problem with most men who have never fought and/or trained seriously in martial arts is exactly what Elon is doing. They have a false sense of bravado and no understanding or appreciation for what technical skills and knowledge can do in a fight.”

It remains uncertain whether the proposed MMA bout between Musk and Zuckerberg will ever become a reality, but if the fight does come to life, Chatri Sityodtong believes the Meta chief will emerge victorious.
“Mark will likely choke Elon unconscious in a fight. Elon could win by a lucky punch due to his size and weight,” Sityodtong tipped.
“However, Mark is in fighting shape and Elon is not. Mark has the gas tank for 3 rounds and Elon has the gas tank for 3 minutes.”
